Filter not working properly.Sand filter-new pool filter sand needed or dial valve /multiport valve malfuction or wrong position.Cartridge filter-need new element.D.E. filter-need to replace d.e.Try this first -inspect filter to the extent you are able depending on your type of filter,then add 2 large coffee cans of diatomaceous earth(D.E.),available at pool store or sometimes in pool stuff at lowes/home depot,pour D.E.(2 coffee cans)in suction line(skimmer/vac line),then run filter 24 hours a day.Meanwhile,shock pool with 1lb. of cal-hypo granules(calcium hypochlorite)per 1000 gallons of pool water or use 1 gallon of cheap bleach per 1000 gallons(i.e. 30lbs.cal-hypo or 30 gallons bleach for 30,000 gal.pool).cal-hypo from pool store or intheswim.com or /bleach from wal-mart.Brush pool walls and floor with 18" pool brush that fits pole.Please match the info that applies to your setup.
