what type of filter insert do i need to get my water crystal clear? I mean very, very clear. like a PRO CLEAR.

Crystal clear water comes from care of your aquarium. A filter built for the size tank you have should be fine, but you still need to keep up with the weekly maintenance on the tank, with water changes, gravel vacing and glass cleaning.

Any good filter on the market will do. I prefer a good cannister filter myself. There are also numerous filter medias that can be used in your filter to make it more efficient. Make sure the filter flow rate is of suitable size for your tank. That being said, just because the water looks crystal clear, it still may contain unsuitable levels of toxins, such as ammonia, in it. The best way to keep up cyrstal clear water and good water quality is regular weekly maintainance on the tank. Keep up with those water changes and a regular vacuuming of the gravel along with filter maintainance
